Our Team

Pastor Phil has been in full-time ministry for over 50 years, is a graduate of Southeastern University, in Lakeland, FL, where he met his wife, Vivian. They have 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law - who are all serving as US missionaries - and 4 beautiful granddaughters.

Pastor Phil accepted Christ at the age of 15, after a period of depression and a suicidal mindset that resulted from his parents’ divorce. At 17, he was called into the ministry, and attended Bible College. He became an ordained minister while the couple served as Youth Pastors in Alabama. 

In March 1984, he became the church’s 5th pastor in seven years (due to much internal conflict), and the church’s 32nd pastor since its founding in 1912. 

The Lord healed and empowered the church to grow, to retire its $1.6 million debt 6 years ahead of schedule, support 50+ missionaries, build a youth outreach center, house & train ministry interns, serve the community with a food pantry, thrift store, and an after-school mentoring program for at-risk children.

In Oct 2018, Hurricane Michael devastated Bay County. All 4 buildings on the church campus were badly damaged. The faithful congregation and leadership team continued worshiping & working together in the multi-purpose building for over 5 years, during reconstruction of the sanctuary, which was rededicated in January 2024. Words are inadequate to describe the heart of this church, which is presently developing leaders who, once again, are building ministries that serve the life of Jesus to our community. 

Since 2005, Pastor Phil also serves as Assistant Network Superintendent and US Missions Director for the West Florida Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God.
